With a deal in place with CSX for the
railroad tracks, the group opposing commuter rail in Central Florida is
ramping up efforts.
Ax The Tax Chairman Doug Guetzloe holds a
one-thousand page state report. He says it has all the info he needs to
fight commuter rail, but that doesn't mean he believes the 1.2 billion
dollar cost estimate.
"We don't know how much this project is going
to cost, because even with the eminent domain aspect of it, that comes out
of a different pot. We don't know what it's going to cost in litigation
and eminent domain seizures to take a hundred acres of private
property."
Other concerns in the report include extra air pollution
and noise beyond acceptable levels in residential
neighborhoods.
